About Augpen DS Bid Suspension:

Augpen DS Bid Suspension is a combination of two antibacterial medicines, indicated for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections.

Each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension of Augpen DS Bid Suspension contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 400 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 57 mg.

This pack contains Sterile Water for Injections 28 ml for reconstitution.

Amoxycillin belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It prevents bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is required for the bacteria to grow and multiply.

Clavulanic acid belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It acts by inactivating some beta-lactamase enzymes that are produced by bacteria, thereby, preventing bacteria from destroying Amoxycillin.

Uses of Augpen DS Bid Suspension:

Augpen DS Bid Suspension is prescribed for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections including lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media (ear infection), sinusitis (sinus infection), skin & skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections.

Usage Direction of Augpen DS Bid Suspension:

• Augpen DS Bid Suspension is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Augpen DS Bid Suspension is for paediatric use only.
• Tap & shake bottle well to loosen powder.
• Twist & open the ampoule of sterile water for injection given with the pack.
• Slowly add 2/3rd into the bottle.
• Put the cap & shake the bottle vigorously.
• Add more sterile water for injection if necessary to adjust the volume upto the ring mark. This makes 30 ml of the suspension.
• Shake well before use.
• Please use the measuring cap that comes with the package for accurate measurement.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.

Precaution & Related information of Augpen DS Bid Suspension:

• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is hypersensitive to Augpen DS Bid Suspension.
• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is having any other complications.
• The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Augpen DS Bid Suspension with any other medication.
• The normal colour of reconstituted suspension is off white & should be consumed within 7 days of preparation.
• Do not use the reconstituted suspension if the colour is brown in appearance.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Augpen DS Bid Suspension:

Store below 25°C. Protected from moisture.

After reconstitution:

Store the reconstituted oral suspension in the refrigerator (at 2°C to 8°C).
