About Polyclav DS Dry Syrup:
Polyclav DS Dry Syrup is a combination of two antibacterial medicines, indicated for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections.
Each 5 ml of the reconstituted suspension of Polyclav DS Dry Syrup contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 400 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 57 mg.
Each pack contains Sterile Water For Reconstitution 30 ml.
Amoxycillin belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It prevents bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is required for the bacteria to grow and multiply.
Clavulanic acid belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It acts by inactivating some beta-lactamase enzymes that are produced by bacteria, thereby, preventing bacteria from destroying Amoxycillin.
Uses of Polyclav DS Dry Syrup:
Polyclav DS Dry Syrup is prescribed for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections including lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media (ear infection), sinusitis (sinus infection), skin & skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections.
Usage Direction of Polyclav DS Dry Syrup:
- Polyclav DS Dry Syrup is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
- Polyclav DS Dry Syrup is for pediatric use only.
- Shake bottle to loosen powder.
- Twist and open the vial of sterile water given with the pack.
- Slowly add sterile water into the bottle up to ring mark on the bottle.
- Put the cap and shake the bottle vigorously.
- Adjust the volume up to ring mark by adding more sterile water, if necessary and shake again.
- Shake well before use.
- Any extra portion left to be thrown away.
- Please use the measuring cap that comes with the package for accurate measurement.
- Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
- Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.
Precaution & Related information of Polyclav DS Dry Syrup:
- Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is hypersensitive to Polyclav DS Dry Syrup.
- Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is having any other complications.
- The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Polyclav DS Dry Syrup with any other medication.
- Do not use if powder/reconstituted solution turns pale yellow to brown colour.
- Content to be consumed within specified period.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Storage condition of Polyclav DS Dry Syrup:
Preserve in tight container, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
After reconstitution:
- Store the reconstituted suspension at room temperature not more than 3 days.
- Alternatively, reconstituted suspension can also be stored in refrigerator not more than 7 days.
