About Tozaar H Tablet:

Tozaar H Tablet is a combination medication, indicated to treat mild to moderate high blood pressure.

Each film-coated Tozaar H Tablet contains Losartan Potassium 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide both are antihypertensive class of medication.  

Losartan belongs to a class of angiotensin-II receptor antagonists. It acts by inhibiting the binding of a substance, Angiotensin-II with receptors, causing the blood vessels to relax which leads to a reduction in blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a class of thiazide diuretic medicines. It acts by increasing the production of more urine to excrete excess fluid and certain electrolytes from the body. In this way, it lowers high blood pressure.

Use of Tozaar H Tablet:

Tozaar H Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure).

Usage Direction of Tozaar H Tablet:

• Tozaar H Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Tozaar H Tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Tozaar H Tablet:

• If hypersensitive or allergic to Tozaar H Tablet, inform the physician immediately.  
• Caution in patients with impaired hepatic function or progressive liver disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, acute myopia and secondary angle-closure glaucoma, angioedema, fluid or electrolyte imbalance, hypokalemia, hyperuricemia, hyperglycemia, increases in cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
• Symptomatic hypotension, especially after the first dose, may occur in patients who are volume and/or sodium depleted by vigorous diuretic therapy, dietary salt restriction, diarrh ea, or vomiting. Such conditions should be corrected before the administration of losartan/hydrochlorothiazide tablets.
• As a consequence of inhibiting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, changes in renal function, including renal failure, have been reported.
• In patients with heart failure, with or without renal impairment, there is - as with other drugs acting on the renin-angiotensin system - the risk of severe arterial hypotension and (often acute) renal impairment.
• As with other vasodilators, special caution is indicated in patients suffering from aortic or mitral stenosis, or obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• As with any antihypertensive agents, excessive blood pressure decrease in patients with ischaemic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease could result in a myocardial infarction or stroke.
• If found any other complications, inform the physician immediately.
• The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Tozaar H Tablet with any other medication.
• When pregnancy is detected, discontinue the product as soon as possible. Drugs that act directly on the renin-angiotensin system can cause injury and death to the developing fetus.
• Consult with the physician during lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Tozaar H Tablet:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protected from light and moisture.
