About Zithrokem 250 mg:

Each film coated Zithrokem 250 mg contains Azithromycin Anhydrous 250 mg and Excipients q.s.

Zithrokem 250 mg is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It acts by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible microorganisms and, thus, interfering with microbial protein synthesis. Azithromycin should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria in order to prevent the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain the efficacy of azithromycin.

Use of Zithrokem 250 mg:

Zithrokem 250 mg is a macrolide antibacterial drug, used for the treatment of patients with the following bacterial infections:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc.
  • Acute otitis media
  • Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and mild to moderately severe community-acquired pneumonia
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis.
  • Uncomplicated gonorrhea, etc.

Usage Direction of Zithrokem 250 mg:

  • Zithrokem 250 mg should be taken orally.
  • Zithrokem 250 mg is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
