Azithral 250 mg tablet is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Azithral 250 mg tablet blocks transpeptidation by binding to 50s ribosomal subunit of susceptible organisms and disrupting RNA-dependent protein synthesis at the chain elongation step. It stops the bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins.
Uses of Azithral 250 mg Tablet:
Azithral 250 mg tablet is a macrolide antibacterial drug, used for the treatment of patients with the following bacterial infections:
- Upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc.
- Acute otitis media
- Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and mild to moderately severe community-acquired pneumonia
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis.
- Uncomplicated gonorrhea, etc.
Usage direction of Azithral 250 mg Tablet:
- Azithral 250 mg tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
- Azithral 250 mg tablet is to be taken whole with the help of water.
- Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
- Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
- Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.
