About Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet:

Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet is an antidiabetic class of medication prescribed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Each uncoated sustained release Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet contains Vildagliptin 50 mg.

Vildagliptin selectively inhibits the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) enzyme that rapidly truncates and inactivates incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). Incretin hormones stimulate insulin secretion and inhibit glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. These effects help to lower the overall blood glucose levels.

Uses of Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet:

Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet is an oral antidiabetic agent indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, NIDDM).

Usage Direction of Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet:

• Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet is to be swallowed whole.
• Do not chew or crush the tablet.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.

Precaution & Related information of Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet:

• If hypersensitive or allergic to Viltab SR 50 mg Tablet, inform the physician immediately.  
• If found any other complications, inform the physician immediately.
• The physician should be well informed when concomitant consumption of this tablet with any other medicines or supplements.
