About Azid 500 mg Tablet:

Each film-coated Azid 500 mg tablet contains Azithromycin dihydrate equivalent to Azithromycin Anhydrous 500 mg and Excipients q.s.

Azid 500 mg tablet is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Azid 500 mg tablet blocks transpeptidation by binding to 50s ribosomal subunit of susceptible organisms and disrupting RNA-dependent protein synthesis at the chain elongation step. It stops the bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins.

Use of Azid 500 mg Tablet:

Azid 500 mg tablet is a macrolide antibacterial drug, used for the treatment of patients with the following bacterial infections:

• Upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc.
• Acute otitis media
• Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and mild to moderately severe community-acquired pneumonia
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis.
• Uncomplicated gonorrhea, etc.

Usage direction of Azid 500 mg Tablet:

• Azid 500 mg tablet should be taken orally.
• Azid 500 mg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
