About Azicip 500 mg Tablet:

Each film-coated Azicip 500 mg tablet contains Azithromycin (anhydrous) 500 mg (as Azithromycin Dihydrate).

Azicip 500 mg tablet is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Azicip 500 mg tablet blocks transpeptidation by binding to 50s ribosomal subunit of susceptible organisms and disrupting RNA-dependent protein synthesis at the chain elongation step. It stops the bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins.

Uses of Azicip 500 mg Tablet:

Azicip 500 mg tablet is a macrolide antibacterial drug, used for the treatment of patients with the following bacterial infections:

• Upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc.
• Acute otitis media
• Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and mild to moderately severe community-acquired pneumonia
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis.
• Uncomplicated gonorrhea, etc.

Usage direction of Azicip 500 mg Tablet:

• Azicip 500 mg tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Azicip 500 mg tablet is to be taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Azicip 500 mg Tablet:

• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is hypersensitive to Azicip 500 mg tablet.
• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is having any other complications.
• The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Azicip 500 mg tablet with any other medication.
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.
