Oilatum is a moisturising cream that contains light liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin, which exert an emollient effect by forming an occlusive film that reduces trans-epidermal water loss, thus helping to maintain normal skin humidity levels. Polyvinylpyrrolidone enhances the strength and longevity of the occlusive film formed by the oil on the skin. It contains Light Liquid Paraffin BP 63.4% w/w. Manufactured by Stiefel Laboratories (Ireland) Ltd., Oilatum is aimed for the treatment of contact dermatitis, atopic eczema, senile pruritus, ichthyosis and related dry skin conditions.
