Product Description:

Foley Catheter is a 3-way catheter that has a non-reactive, non-adhesive bond with silicone elastomer. The soft silicone catheter is designed to be thin, flexible, sterile and for single use only. The Foley Catheter tube is passed through the urethra into the urinary bladder. Urine drains from the bladder into a bag that is attached to one of the lumens of the catheter. Its color-coded inflation valve accepts Luer slip syringes. It is packaged in an outer peel-back pouch and an easy-to-open inner sheath. The Silicone elastomer coating provides a barrier between the latex catheter shaft and the patient’s urethra increasing biocompatibility. It has large eyes holes and drainage lumen to facilitate urine flow. Its thick funnel helps prevent collapse when irrigating. The reinforced tip protects the catheter from stylet puncture. Its strong symmetric balloons enhance confidence in catheter reliability.

Usage Direction:

• Foley Catheter is recommended for urological use only.
• Used under medical supervision.
• To deflate the catheter balloon: Gently insert a syringe in the catheter valve. Never use more force than is required to make the syringe "stick" in the valve. If you notice slow or no deflation, re-seat the syringe gently. Use only gentle aspiration to encourage deflation if needed. Vigorours aspiration may collapse the inflation lumen, preventing balloon deflation. If permitted by hospital protocol, the valve arm may be severed. If this fails, contact an adequately trained professional for assistance, as directed by hospital protocol.

Safety Information:

• For single use only. Do not resterilize.
• Do not use needles.
• Sterile unless the package has been opened or damaged.
• Do not use ointments or lubricants having a petrolatum base. They will damage latex and may burst balloons.
• Do not aspirate urine through the drainage funnel wall.
• If balloon rupture occurs, care should be taken to assure that all balloon fragments have been removed from the patients.
