Alfadexon Tablet is advised as a nutritional supplement that has the unique ability to form a very stable fat–fibre complex with fat droplets in the stomach. This fat–fibre complex is resistant to the lipolytic activity of pancreatic lipases. It passes intact into the large intestine so that the microflora is unable to ferment either the fat or the fibre. Thus reduces the absorption and bioavailability of dietary fat. It shows significant reductions in blood lipid levels and increases in adiponectin levels in obese type 2 diabetic individuals with hypertriglyceridemia. It reduces both saturated and trans fatty acids, resulting from preferential binding with saturated fats. It helps to decrease the density of lipoprotein (LDL), therefore reducing the risk factors of cardiovascular disease and maintaining the overall heart health of an individual.
