About Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup:

Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup is a combination of two antibacterial medicines, indicated for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections in children.

Each 5 ml of the reconstituted suspension of Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 400 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 57 mg.

Amoxycillin belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It prevents bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is required for the bacteria to grow and multiply.

Clavulanic acid belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It acts by inactivating some beta-lactamase enzymes that are produced by bacteria, thereby, preventing bacteria from destroying Amoxycillin.

Uses of Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup:

Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup is prescribed for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections including lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media (ear infection), sinusitis (sinus infection), skin & skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections in children.

Usage Direction of Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup:

• Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup is for paediatric use only.
• Shake the bottle to loosen the powder.
• Twist and open the vial of sterile water given with the pack.
• Slowly add sterile water up to the ring on the bottle.
• Put the cap and shake the bottle vigorously.
• Adjust the volume up to the ring by adding more sterile water if necessary and shake again.
• Any extra portion left to be discard.
• Shake well before use.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.

Precaution & Related information of Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup:

• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is hypersensitive to Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup.
• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is having any other complications.
• The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup with any other medication.
• Content should be consumed within 4 days of reconstitution.
• Keep the medicine out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Xyclav Duo Dry Syrup:

Store below 25°C. Protected from light & moisture.

After reconstitution:

Store the reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator at a temperature 2°C to 8°C.
