About Thyropax 25 mcg Tablet:

Each uncoated Thyropax 25 mcg tablet contains Thyroxine sodium equivalent to anhydrous Thyroxine sodium 25 mcg (Synthetic Thyroid Hormone).

Thyropax 25 mcg tablet contains the active substance Thyroxine. Thyroxine is a hormone which is produced naturally in the body by the thyroid gland. Levothyroxine is a synthetic version of this hormone. Thyroxine controls how much energy your body uses, when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroxine for the body’s need.

Use of Thyropax 25 mcg Tablet:

Thyropax 25 mcg tablet is indicated as a replacement therapy in primary (thyroidal), secondary (pituitary) and tertiary (hypothalamic) congenital or acquired hypothyroidism.

It is also used in the treatment and prevention of thyroid cancer and diffuse non-toxic goiter or Hashimoto thyroiditis, conditions in which the thyroid gland becomes enlarged causing swelling in the front of neck.

Usage direction of Thyropax 25 mcg Tablet:

  • Thyropax 25 mcg tablet should be taken orally.
  • Thyropax 25 mcg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Special warnings of Thyropax 25 mcg tablet with food and drink:

Consumption of soybean flour (infant formula), cotton seed meal, walnuts and dietary fiber may bind and decrease the absorption of levothyroxine sodium from the gastrointestinal tract.

Calcium, calcium-fortified orange juice and grape fruit juice may delay the absorption of levothyroxine and reduce its bioavailability.
