About Sertin 50 mg Tablet:

Sertin 50 mg tablet is an antidepressant medication used for the treatment of various types of depression.

Each Sertin 50 mg tablet contains Sertraline Hydrochloride equivalent to Sertraline 50 mg.

Sertraline is one of a group of medicines called Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs). Sertraline selectively inhibits the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) at the presynaptic neuronal membrane, thereby increasing serotonergic activity. This result in an increased synaptic concentration of serotonin in the CNS, which leads to numerous functional changes associated with enhanced serotonergic neurotransmission. These changes are believed to be responsible for the antidepressant action and beneficial effects in obsessive-compulsive and other anxiety-related disorders.

Use of Sertin 50 mg Tablet:

Sertin 50 mg tablet is prescribed to treat various types of depression such as:

• Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Premenstrual dysphoric disorder
• Social anxiety disorder, and
• Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia

Usage direction of Sertin 50 mg Tablet:

• Sertin 50 mg tablet should be taken orally.
• Sertin 50 mg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
