About Pyridium 200 mg Tablet:

Pyridium 200 mg Tablet is a local analgesic used for the symptomatic relief of urinary pain, burning, urgency, frequency, and general discomfort caused by lower urinary tract irritations.

Each sugar-coated Pyridium 200 mg Tablet contains Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride 200 mg.

The complete mechanism of action of phenazopyridine is not fully elucidated, however it is reported that Phenazopyridine exhibits a direct topical analgesic effect on the mucosal lining of the urinary tract via the inhibition of voltage-gated sodium channels, thus resulting in the relief of unpleasant urinary symptoms.

Use of Pyridium 200 mg Tablet:

Pyridium 200 mg Tablet is prescribed for the symptomatic relief of pain, burning, urgency, frequency, and general discomfort caused by lower urinary tract irritations. The irritation may be a result of trauma, surgery, endoscopic procedures, infection, or the insertion of instruments or urinary catheters.

Usage Direction of Pyridium 200 mg Tablet:

• Pyridium 200 mg Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the Physician.
• Pyridium 200 mg Tablet should be taken by adult and individuals above 12 years of age.
• Pyridium 200 mg Tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the Physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

• If hypersensitive or allergic to Pyridium 200 mg Tablet, inform the physician immediately.
