About Powercort Shampoo:

Powercort Shampoo belongs to a group of medicines called steroids and is used to treat various skin conditions.

Each Powercort Shampoo contains Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% w/w, Benzyl Alcohol 1.00% w/w in a shampoo base q.s.

Clobetasol is a very potent topical glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. It promotes the induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) and subsequently inhibits the liberation of arachidonic acid. Thereby it depresses the formation, discharge, and activity of endogenous chemical mediators of inflammation (e.g., histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins).

Use of Powercort Shampoo:

Powercort Shampoo is prescribed for the treatment of various skin problems such as frequently relapsing eczema, an inflammatory manifestation of psoriasis, lichen planus, allergies, corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, and other skin conditions that have not responded to milder steroid creams or ointments. It works by reducing swelling, redness, itchiness of the skin and prevents further irritation.

Usage direction of Powercort Shampoo:

• Powercort Shampoo is intended for topical use only.
• As per the patient’s conditions, the physician will advise the proper dose and duration of the application.
• Before applying, clean & dry the affected area.
• It is advised to check the label or patients information leaflet before application.
• Apply thin film of shampoo onto dry (not wet) scalp once a day to affected areas only.
• Massage gently into the lesion & leave it for 15 minutes before lathering and rinsing.
• Add water, lather and rinse thoroughly all parts of the scalp and body that came in contact with the shampoo.
• Close the cap tightly after use.

Precaution & Related information of Powercort Shampoo:

• If allergic to Powercort Shampoo, inform the physician immediately.
• If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
• Avoid contact with eyes and lips. Minimize contact to non-affected areas of the body.
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Powercort Shampoo:

Store below 30°C. Do not freeze.
