About Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge:

Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge is a biphasic injection (50% Insulin Lispro and 50% Insulin Lispro Protamine Suspension), indicated to manage type-1 and type-2 diabetes mellitus.  

Each ml of 50% insulin lispro and 50% Insulin lispro protamine suspension contains 100 IU (equivalent to 3.5 mg) Insulin lispro (r-DNA origin) as active ingredient, 3.78 mg Dibasic Sodium Phosphate as a buffering agent, 16 mg Glycerol as tonicity modifier, 1 mg Liquified Phenol as preservative/stabilizer, 2.20 mg Metacresol as preservative/stabilizer, 0.19 mg Protamine Sulfate as Insulin Lispro complexing agent, Zinc Oxide q.s. as a stabilizer, Hydrochloric Acid (10%) q.s. and Sodium Hydroxide (10%) q.s. for pH adjustment, Water for Injection q.s. 1 ml.

Insulin lispro is a recombinant form of human insulin. When pancreatic beta-cell does not produce enough insulin, it helps to restore the level of insulin by replacing the amount of insulin that is missing in the body system. In this way, it lowers the glucose levels in the blood.

Use of Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge:

Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge is prescribed for the management of type-1 and type-2 diabetes mellitus.

Usage Direction of Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge:

• Inject Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge under the skin, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not use more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge:

• Do not use Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge if the patient has an allergic reaction to Humalog Mix 50.
• Consult with a physician if a patient suffering from kidney, liver, or heart disease.
• If the patient experience fluid retention especially in the hands, ankles, or feet, consult with a physician.
• Take precautions during the use of Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge in case of hypoglycemia.
• Consult with a physician if the patient drinks alcohol.  
• If found any other complications, inform the physician immediately.
• Once in use cartridges may be used for up to 28 days.
• Following insertion in a pen, the cartridge and pen should be stored below 30°C and should not be refrigerated.
• Not for intravenous use.
• Do not use Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge if Humalog solution is cloudy, thickened, colored, or has solid pieces in it.
• Do not use Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge if the cartridge appears frosted.
• Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge should not be mixed with any other animal or human insulin preparations.  
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Humalog Mix 50 100 Iu/ml 3 ML Cartridge:

Store at 2°C-8°C (in a refrigerator). Do not freeze. Do not expose to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
