About Flunil Suspension:

Flunil suspension is an antidepressant medication used to treat various depression and anxiety disorders. Each 5 ml Flunil suspension contains Fluoxetine Hydrochloride equivalent to Fluoxetine 20 mg in Flavoured Syrupy Base.

Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting the presynaptic reuptake of the neurotransmitter serotonin. As a result, levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) are increased in various parts of the brain. Fluoxetine interacts to a degree with the 5-HT2C receptor and it has been suggested that through this mechanism, it is able to increase noradrenaline and dopamine levels in the prefrontal cortex.

Use of Flunil Suspension:

Flunil suspension is prescribed for treatment of various types of depression and anxiety disorders, such as:

• Major depressive disorder

• Obsessive-compulsive disorder

• Bulimia nervosa

• Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia

• Premenstrual dysphoric disorder

Usage direction of Flunil Suspension:

• Flunil suspension should be taken orally.

• Shake well before use.

• Flunil suspension should be taken by measuring with a measuring cup.

• Do not discontinue without physician’s advice.

• Do not consume more than prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Flunil Suspension:

Precaution should be taken & consult with the physician during following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to this medicine or any of its components.

• Do not drive, use machinery, or any activity which require alertness after taking this medicine.

• Inform your physician if you are going through any other treatment.

• Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Flunil Suspension:

Store in a cool and dark place.
