Medicine Information
About Bactoclav DS 457 Oral Suspension:
Bactoclav DS 457 Oral Suspension is a combination of two antibacterial medicines, indicated for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections in children.
Each composite pack contains:
A. Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Oral Suspension
Each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension of Bactoclav DS 457 Oral Suspension contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 400 mg and Potassium Clavulanate (as Potassium Clavulanate Diluted) equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 57 mg.
B. One ampoule containing 30 ml Sterile Water for reconstitution of dry syrup (as Sterile Water for Injections).
Amoxycillin belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It prevents bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is required for the bacteria to grow and multiply.
Clavulanic acid belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It acts by inactivating some beta-lactamase enzymes that are produced by bacteria, thereby, preventing bacteria from destroying Amoxycillin.
