Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule contains progesterone, which is a natural female sex hormone, essential for the regulation of ovulation and menstruation. Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule is used for the treatment of menstrual and pregnancy-related issues by adjusting the hormonal balance within the body.

Each Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule contains Progesterone 200 mg.

Progesterone is the main hormone secreted by the corpus luteum and the placenta. It works by inducing secretory changes in the endometrium, promoting mammary gland development, relaxing the uterus, blocking follicular maturation and ovulation, maintaining pregnancy, inducing adequate endometrial maturity, thus promoting embryo implantation.

Use of Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule:

Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule is prescribed for the following:

• Regulation of ovulation and menstruation
• Treatment of amenorrhea (absence of a menstrual period in a woman of reproductive age), premenstrual syndrome, recurrent miscarriage due to progesterone deficiency
• Control of abnormal uterine bleeding

Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule can also be used as a part of hormonal replacement therapy for the prevention of endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of the lining of the uterus).

• Algest 200 mg Soft Gelatin Capsule is intended for oral/vaginal/rectal use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Do not break or crush the capsule.
