About Advastat 20 mg Tablet:

Advastat 20 mg tablet is a dyslipidemic agent used to treat several types of dyslipidemias.

Each film coated Advastat 20 mg tablet contains Rosuvastatin calcium equivalent to Rosuvastatin 20 mg and Excipients q.s.

Rosuvastatin selectively and competitively inhibits 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis. It increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface, thereby enhancing the uptake and catabolism of LDL. It also decreases apolipoprotein B, triglyceride and increases HDL concentrations.

Use of Advastat 20 mg Tablet:

Advastat 20 mg tablet is prescribed for the treatment of several types of dyslipidemias, including primary hyperlipidemia, mixed dyslipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia in patients with failed dietary modifications.

Usage direction of Advastat 20 mg Tablet:

• Advastat 20 mg tablet should be taken orally.
• Advastat 20 mg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Statin Warning:

Patients should notify to their healthcare professional immediately if they have following symptoms: Liver problems, unusual fatigue or weakness, loss of appetite, upper belly pain, dark coloured urine, yellowing of skin or eyes, memory loss, confusion and increase in blood sugar levels.
