Product Description:

Zerostat Spacer is a device into which the medicine from your inhaler is released for inhalation. It helps to hold the medicine for a few seconds to make it easier for you to inhale it. It also allows the medicine to reach the lungs with minimal deposition in the mouth or throat.

Zerostat Spacer Device is to be used with Cipla inhaler only. It has been designed to help you obtain full benefit of the medicine release from your inhaler.

It is useful for patients with poor inhalation technique, children and patients requiring higher doses.

Usage Direction:

Zerostat Spacer is to be used as directed by the physician. 

1. To assemble the zerostat spacer, firmly push the two halves of the spacer together and rotate. The two locks ensure proper assembly of the spacer.
2. Remove the cap from the mouthpiece of the inhaler.
3. Place the cap over the mouthpiece of the zerostat spacer.
4. Shake the inhaler well.
5. Insert the inhaler firmly into the slot opposite to the mouthpiece.
6. Holding the inhaler, press down on the canister to release a dose into the zerostat spacer.
7. Remove the cap, breathe out fully. Close your lips firmly around the mouthpiece to create a good seal, but do not bite. Breathe in deeply through your mouth. 

Remove the zerostat spacer from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds, or as long as is comfortable. Breathe out slowly.

If a second dose is required, wait for a minute, remove the inhaler, shake the inhaler and repeat step 5 to 7.

Cleaning the Zerostat Spacer:

It is important to keep the zerostat spacer clean. Clean the zerostat spacer atleast once a week. 

• Separate the two halves of the zerostat spacer by gently rotating and pulling them apart. (The inhaler should be romoved before cleaning).
• Rinse both halves in clean water. Do not use hot water. A soap solution may be used.
• Shake out excess water and air dry. Do not use heat to dry.
• Ensure that the spacer is completely dry before re-using it.
• Always store the zerostst spacer in the container provided. 

Caution: 

• Do not push any cloth or instrument into the mouthpieces as this may cause damage.

 Note: 

• It is recommended that the zerostat spacer should be replaced after 6 months of use.
• Children should use the zerostat spacer under parental guidance. For children below 3 years a face mask (Baby Mask) attached to the zerostat spacer should be used to facilitate administration.
